Let Teacup Tiny Homes Give You the Gift of Falling in Love Again
May 18, 2022Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sometimes, at Teacup, we can’t get enough of the holiday dedicated to love! It could be the hot cinnamon hearts or the copious amounts of chocolate laying around but there is an extra boost of romance infused into all that we do. Yes, we LOVE, love. In fact, some might ..(might).. even go so far as to call us hopeless romantics- but we would call ourselves hopeful romantics!
Love & Tiny Homes
So why are love and romance such a big deal for a company that builds tiny homes and cottages? Great question! And the answer is that while building tiny’s is what we technically do, our deeper goal is to help you fall in love. Let us explain.
Falling in love requires a few things: safety, security, mindfulness, quiet, and time. But, ironically, society's consumer culture has strayed further and further from these things as time goes on. What used to be a holiday based on sharing our feelings has morphed into a corporate holiday centered around purchasing things like stuffed animals we don’t need or candy hearts we’re not even sure we like the taste of.
Now, don’t get us wrong, no one in the Teacup family is going to turn down chocolate (!), but we also want to take a moment this Valentine’s Day to breathe and come back to what’s really important: helping you fall in love- with yourself, your life, and your special someone, all over again.
People fall in love in many capacities, but first and foremost, it’s important to fall in love with yourself. Here at Teacup, we want to do what we can to assist you in that process.
If you’ve never lived in a small space, you might not know this yet, but a tiny home is actually a natural feedback system that fosters connection to the self.
Why is this the case? Well, in a tiny, everywhere you go, there you are- like, on another level!
That soaking tub you said yes to when you chose our Margo model? That is a prime example of past-you caring for future-you. A tiny cottage keeps you in close proximity to your acts of self-love, and thereby causes you to remember them far more often than you would in a traditionally-sized living space! Here at Teacup we know that self-love and self-care are so important, and we like to think of our tiny's as little capsules that allow your relationship with yourself to flourish!
Fall In Love With Your Home
Falling in love with yourself is the first step, but what about falling in love with your life? Once upon a time, we all had aspirations of an ideal life. But, over time, most of us have been pulled from our original inspirations and molded into the lives society has told us we should want.
Falling in love with your life requires that you honor your authentic callings, and here at Teacup, we’re 100% prepared to back you up. Have you heard the terms “she-shed” or “man-cave?” While we like to think that the use of daylight in our tiny cottages would never draw to mind the darkness of a shed or cave, we recognize the importance of having a private place to build your most authentic life.
Each of our designs facilitates this differently, but let us give you a few examples.
For those looking to reawaken the artist within, we’d recommend our Umi model. The incredible daylight in The Umi lends itself perfectly to function as an art studio. At 336 square feet, you will have plenty of room to pop up an easel, set things to dry, and store your supplies. Need a place to spread out your tools? The Umi has got you covered there as well! We are proud to say that the endcap of our kitchen counter is one of the biggest ones you’ll find in the small-space-living world! The edge of it even folds down for convenience when not in us! Directly under your workspace, you will find two massive storage options: one drawer and one shelf to make your supplies easily accessible. Not an artist? Not a problem! The Umi’s spaciousness lends itself to those who favor music as well. Think you can’t put a piano in a tiny? Think again!
Romance Too
Falling in love with yourself and your life is great, but what about romance? What about falling in love with another? Well, here at Teacup, we want to support you in that endeavor as well. If there is one thing we repeatedly hear from our customers, it is that they want the time to do so.
So how do you get the time? Well, our answer here at Teacup is to provide you with a space that feels like home. We want to give you a place that provides physical separation from your daily grind so that you can reconnect with the person who matters. Put another way, we want to help you prioritize making time for your relationship by removing the pieces that might distract you.
Imagine a place where you are free of anything that reminds you of the workweek. It’s a quiet place, maybe one nestled in the trees or alongside a river. You don’t get mail delivered there. The wifi is spotty- or maybe that’s just what you tell your friends and family. ;)
This is a place that exists for Teacup clients.
If you need a little inspiration to help you envision it, just check out the pictures of The Tagish model in our product gallery. The Tagish is one of our best cottage designs to foster reconnection and romance. Maybe this is due to the king-sized loft, or maybe it’s because of the electric fireplace option! Oh, who are we kidding? It’s definitely thanks to both!
Spontaneity and Your Tiny Homes
Do you want to add spontaneity into your relationship this year? Perfect. The Tagish could help you out on that front as well. As one of our lightest weight models, it is an excellent choice for couples who see themselves towing the cottage from time to time. Yes, with The Tagish you can chase new horizons in your environment while you explore new frontiers in your relationship!
We wish you all the love in the world this holiday season, but we must be going for now- the chocolate in our office isn’t going to eat itself! We hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day as much as we will, and whether you are ready to fall in love for the first or millionth time, our team at Teacup is here to help by providing you with the tiny experience of your dreams. All you have to do is say yes.
Until then,
Love big, love brave, love gently, love mindfully, and
Love,
-Jen
